Before you aske me again why I don't have a girlfriend...

...remember that I live in the UK. And read this article first. Of course not all women are like this, but when you see these things day in and day out, you start to wonder how psychologically healthy these women are...

Sex with a woman who is drunk may soon be rape

...so half of men who go out on a Friday in England would be in jail by Monday ;)
From "the world upside down" section of this blog, here come the news:
A new white paper is expected to propose...that If a woman is deemed to have consumed so much alcohol that she is incapable of agreeing to make love, the man would be far more likely to be convicted of rape
This is interesting, bearing in mind what you can see every weekend here. A lot of people in a state that could be considered "drunk" by many standards.
How will this affect men-women relationships? Will it not make it even more difficult to socialize? (as if everyone being drunk and loud music wouldn't make it hard enough)
Proof of whether a woman was drunk would come from medical tests - as well as evidence from witnesses and victims.
OMG. So this means that a man could be convicted on the word of a drunk woman's friends? What kind of credibility would you give to people that let their friends get to that state? What if they're drunk too and can't remember so well what they saw? So if I understand correctly, the police/judicial system would believe them? Wow...
And could you tell me exactly which medical tests would be able to retroactively prove consent? (or lack of it. Yes, I imagine that no medical tests could prove this, so we'd be left with the word of her "friends")
Also, what if the girl wants to set up the man? It would be so easy for her! She can get drunk before or after the fact, give consent privately to him, and then accuse him of rape...wow...how nice.
Don't get me wrong. I am all against rapist and abusers, and i think they should get what they deserverve. But I think some kinds of laws have too much room for wrong convictions, and I can't accept that. I hate seeing innocent people going to jail, losing everything they have, based on the testimony of people that could well be lying. What if it happened to you?
The new law places a heavy responsibility on men to be certain that a woman is sober enough to know what she is doing.
...George McAuley, chairman of the UK Men's Movement, said men may have to resort to obtaining written 'contracts' or using mobile phones to film their partners consenting to sex.
Exactly. Come on...you have to be joking! Is the solution to avoid women altogether? If you are not a man, try to see it for a moment from an average, innocent guy's point of view. What would you do?

"Free is good"

The thing missing is the BENEFIT. And with this I do not mean benefits for operators, platform providers or the advertisers – it’s the consumers that get nearly nothing out of mobile advertising. Commercial television has been the dominant form of broadcasting. FREE. Netscape introduced FREE internet browsing. Hotmail was the FREE email, Google organized the internet for FREE and enabled simple, spontaneous access to information. Napster created FREE peer-to-peer file sharing. Skype launched FREE internet phone calls… revolutionizing the perception of international phone calls and was the fastest application adoption in the history. Simply put…FREE is GOOD. And I believe that free is also the future of mobile communications, especially for young consumers.
There is one topic that makes the industry discuss: how much advertising can consumers TOLERATE? If you look what mobile industry currently is offering to them – the answer is easy: NONE. There is no BENEFIT for them.

If consumers get a real BENEFIT and receive ads that are relevant and entertaining for them, two things will happen: Free is good and best of all – ads are good.
